“It’s Enormous Crocodile and he wants to eat you up!” – The Enormous Crocodile, Leeds Playhouse

If you’re looking for a great day out with young kids in the holidays, why not book to see The Enormous Crocodile at Leeds Playhouse? It’s running until 6th January so there’s still time to book in to enjoy the fun during the holidays.

I went to review the production on behalf of Impact Magazine with my two boys, Isaac aged 9 and Elijah aged 7. Both they (and indeed I!) loved it! Suitable for children aged 4+ it was a fantastic show and even though my boys are a little older, their faces lit up at the ingenious costumes, funny dialogue (what else do you expect from a play derived from a Roald Dahl book?!) and interactive nature of the show.

This new musical version of Roald Dahl’s picture book has tasty tunes by Ahmed Abdullahi Gallab and has a rib-tickling book and lyrics by Suhayla El-Bushra, and additional music and lyrics by Tom Brady which had us singing “sizzle like a sausage” for hours afterwards.

The costumes were visually stunning and really made the show something different – they were reminiscent of The Lion King in the West End’s approach, just a suitably child-like variation that hugely added to the fun factor.

Highly recommend if you have young children or indeed are young at heart!
